Our Brighton Dentist

Alan Gurman, DDS and his dental team are dedicated to serving families and individuals in Brighton, CO and surrounding communities with superior dental care. We believe that each patient should be treated with the highest level of respect, dignity, and competence. Our dental team provides a compassionate, caring environment where patients can achieve excellent oral health.

Our Technology

At Alpine Dental Center, we use the following technology:

  • Digital X-rays. Digital radiography uses an electronic sensor that captures and stores the digital image on a computer. This image can be instantly viewed and enlarged, helping us detect problems easier.
  • Intra-oral camera. The intra-oral camera broadcasts images for both the patient and doctor to see. Instantaneously the images of your teeth are sent to a computer screen so that both the patient and doctor can review your oral health together.
  • Soft tissue laser. When using a laser, the dentist gives fewer shots and less anesthesia thereby reducing patient anxiety and providing a more relaxing dental experience. Using laser dentistry for gum procedures reduces postoperative bleeding.

Our Services

  • Cleanings. Even if your teeth feel fine, you should still see the dentist every six months for a cleaning. A dental hygienist will perform a professional cleaning, which includes the removal of tartar and plaque as well as tooth polishing.
  • Dental implants. Dental implants are a great way to restore missing teeth. A dental implant consists of a titanium “root” that is inserted into the bone and is used to support a denture, crown, or bridge. Dental implants look and act just like real teeth. They can last a lifetime if properly cared for.
  • Restorations. Restorations can be used to fix decay in your mouth. Fillings are the most common type of restoration. Fillings are used to fill in cavities. Crowns are another common type of restoration. Crowns are tooth-shaped caps used for larger cavities. They cover the entire tooth and stay affixed with dental cement. If you are missing one or more teeth, a bridge uses false teeth to fill in the gap. They are composed of crowns on either side.
  • Cosmetic dentistry. There are many ways to improve your smile. Have stained teeth? Alpine Dental Center offers both in-office and at-home teeth whitening to make your smile whiter and brighter. Patients with multiple cosmetic issues, such as staining, misalignment, and gaps, can benefit from cosmetic dental treatment with porcelain veneers. These pieces of porcelain are wafer-thin and are bonded to teeth to improve their shape, position, and color.
  • Emergency dentistry. Dental issues sometimes happen outside of normal hours. At Alpine Dental Center, we provide same-day emergency dental care in Brighton, CO. Toothaches, knocked-out teeth, bleeding gums, injury, and trauma all warrant an immediate appointment. Call us if you experience a dental emergency and we’ll try to see you as quickly as possible.
  • Root canal therapy. Root canal therapy is needed when the nerve of a tooth is affected by decay or infection. The pulp, nerves, bacteria, and any decay are removed and the resulting space is filled with special materials that restore the tooth to its full function. Root canal treatment is highly successful and usually lasts a lifetime.
  • Periodontal disease. This is a common condition that occurs when plaque and calculus attack the gums and the bone that support the teeth. Periodontal disease is painless in its early stages. It is estimated that 80% of people have it. But our team can treat it and help your teeth get healthy again.
  • Sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is a medical problem that prevents patients from living healthy lives. And while the condition can be complicated, Alpine Dental Center is qualified to provide treatment to comfortably alleviate side effects. We provide patients with sleep apnea appliances so they protect their oral health and get a good night’s rest.
